Hydrangea Macrophylla Selina

Oh, I found another of the Dutch Ladies

While we were in Ireland, we saw so many hydrangeas! I eventually found this specific variety growing in one of the gardens we visited, showing off stunning colors in late summer. I originally acquired this hydrangea from our farm store in 2023 when it was lonely and needing a home, but little did I know, it was Selina!.

As the rest of the Dutch Ladies series we offer, Selina is a fast, vigorous grower that reaches about 4 feet tall and wide. Like the other Dutch Ladies, such as Sabrina, the foliage begins with a beautiful burgundy-brown marked tint. The blooms are a gorgeous lacecap type that begin picotee with a distinct red or pink edge. In person, the buds start green with a red edge before rapidly transitioning to a dark, uniform hot red-pink or blue.
