This oversized and prolifically blooming hydrangea with pastel pink to rich blue blooms in summer is a real show-off. Super dark leaves are deeply serrated and just part of the showing off this plant will do. Any strong growing plant is a pleasure to have in your flower garden but when the blooms begin appearing in summer, the unusually frilly petals will give you garden visitors something to talk about. Like the name implies, this cultivar has a strong German heritage like many of your favorite hydrangeas. Bred by August Steiniger in 1947.
