This wonderful hydrangea was found blooming in the backyard of the late University of Georgia Coach Vince Dooley by renowned horticulturist and hydrangea lover Dr. Michael Dirr after a cold winter that left most hydrangeas in Athens bloomless. We've grown it for several years and we get blooms every year without fail. The blooms can be blue or pink depending on the acidity of the soil. It is a strong and vigorous growing hydrangea that we have seen bloom twice in one season.
