Didrangea

New breed of hydrangea!  Eeek

A Dichroa cross with Hydrangea macrophylla that I call Didrangea is an exciting new breed for us from Dan Hinkley. This unique evergreen hydrangea features glossy foliage and a much more compact growth habit compared to other Dichroa varieties.

The plant produces pH-sensitive fertile florets in shades of blue and pink. As temperatures cool in the fall, these florets turn into decorative fruit that can last on the plant until the first frost. These compact qualities and evergreen nature make it a standout choice for the garden.
