Introduced by Messrs. Veitch around the beginning of the 20th century, the deep green, pointed leaves show off the flattish, snowy white flowers to perfection. A completely hardy hydrangea which needs partial shade and rich loamy soil to thrive. It is a favorite shrub for massing in a woodland setting or semi-natural garden.
